I'm a female actor currently living in Chicago. (Yes, a female actor. Not an actress. I'll blog about THAT later.) I have always had issues finding monologues that I truly like and aren't "angry woman" monologues. Due to monetary and seasonal reasons, I have been focusing on my day job lately. I plan on getting back on the audition wagon soon. The other day, I was searching for new audition pieces and I found myself being drawn to the "angry woman" monologues I have always been told to avoid.
Then I realized that there was something to the idea of "angry woman" monologues. Why not invite others to write original "angry woman" monologues as well as write some of my own? Why not compile these pieces into one large piece performed by a company of women?
